Further roll-out of universal credit full service

New regulations have been issued with postcodes for the next stage of universal credit full service roll-out.

The Welfare Reform Act 2012 (Commencement No.17,19,22,23 and 24 and Transitional and Transitory Provisions (Modification) Order 2017 (SI 952/2017) sets out full service roll-out between 4 October 2017 and 24 January 2018.

The postcodes and roll-out dates can be found in the order’s schedule.

Once each postcode area joins the full service, new claims for child tax credit and working tax credit are no longer possible unless the claimant or their partner are state pension credit age or over that age or a small number of other exceptions apply. In addition until 31 October 2018, if the claimant is responsible for three or more children then they will need to claim tax credits instead of UC unless they have claimed UC in the last 6 months and are able to reclaim. See our full service page for more information on the tax credit consequences.

Existing live service UC claimants in those postcode areas will be transferred over to the full service sometime after each go-live date.
