Government responds to SSAC’s concerns about 2-child limit

The Government have responded to concerns raised by the Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) about the 2-child limit to be introduced into Universal Credit and child tax credit from 6 April 2017.

In his letter Damian Hinds MP, Minister for Employment, responds to each of the primary concerns raised by SSAC. Whilst acknowledging the points made and conceding there are pros and cons, he makes no concessions.

On the question about approved 3rd party professionals in relation to the non-consensual conception exception, Mr Hinds states that 'securing this list and developing guidance is being treated as a priority'
