Closure of DWP Benefit Enquiry Line

The Benefit Enquiry Line (Telephone number 0800 88 22 00/Textphone 0800 24 33 55) will be closing on 30 June 2013.

DWP advise that the information and advice provided by the Benefit Enquiry Line is now easily accessible via the internet and other DWP services and that Minsters have agreed the closure.

Claimants who call the Benefit Enquiry Line after the closure will hear a series of recorded messages signposting them to other telephone lines or digital services for the benefits they require. The message will remain in place initially 6 months and then reviewed.
