Free School Meals – Wales

From 1 April 2019, a UC earnings threshold has been introduced for entitlement to free school meals in Wales.

The threshold is £616.67 a month (based on 1/12 of an equivalent annual income of £7,400). The threshold applies to earnings calculated over a relevant period – which may be the previous 1, 2 or 3 UC assessment periods.

The regulations also allow for transitional protection in certain cases.
