National Minimum Wage increase from 1 October 2011
The National Minimum Wage rates are increasing on 1 October 2011. The rates are dependent upon age with a special rate for apprentices.
The new rates from 1 October 2011 are:
- Age 16 or 17 (over compulsory school age) - £3.68 per hour (increased from £3.64)
- Age 18,19 and 20 - £4.98 per hour (increased from £4.92)
- Age 21 and over - £6.08 per hour (increased from £5.93)
- Apprentices 16, 17 or 18 (and 19 and over for the first 12 months of training) - £2.60 per hour (increased from £2.50).
