Tax credit and child benefit appeals – HMRC change their letterhead and contact details

As part of HMRC’s recent reorganisation, the tax credits and child benefit appeals teams are now under the management structure of HMRC’s Solicitor's Office and Legal Services (SOLS).

This means, tax credits and child benefit claimants who have submitted a request for an appeal to The Tribunal Service will begin to receive correspondence about their appeal from HMRC showing the letter is sent from HMRC’s Solicitor's Office and Legal Services.

This does not mean that HMRC is commencing legal proceedings other than dealing with the appeal and it is simply a result of the new management arrangements within HMRC.
