Tax credit cuts - update

In a debate on 26 October 2015, the House of Lords refused to approve legislation which would allow for the Government's planned cuts to tax credits which were announced in the Chancellor's Summer Budget 2015 and had been due to take effect from April 2016.

We have published an article on our LITRG website which looks at the effect of this controversial vote and what it means for tax credits claimants.

The Chancellor has said he will make further announcements about tax credits in his Autumn Statement, expected in November 2015.
