Universal Credit roll-out postponed in North Kensington

DWP have made a decision to postpone roll-out of the Universal Credit full (digital) service to postcodes covered by North Kensington Jobcentre following the Grenfell tower fire. The announcement confirms that postcodes W8, W10 5, W10 6, W10 9 and W11, that were due to join the full service on 19 July 2017, will now join the service from 4 October 2017. The other postcodes due to go into full (digital) service on 19 July are unaffected.

The decision has been made under Regulation 4 of the Universal Credit (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2014. This will only be the second time that this determination power has been used. In 2016, several postcodes in Croydon and Sutton were due to enter live service on 24 February 2016 and were delayed using this power until 23 March 2016.

Confirmation of the decision can be found on GOV.UK
