Charities launch survey about use of digital technologies
The Low Incomes Tax Reform Group are running a survey, alongside TaxAid and Tax Help for Older People on behalf of the Chartered Insistute of Taxation, with the aim of understanding more about who uses digital services, how they use them and the barriers to doing more online.
The survey is designed to help build a picture about internet use and how computer literacy impacts confidence in online services, particularly those offered by the UK government.
Recent years have seen a shift towards more online services, but there are still barriers. Recent headlines raise concerns around online security and use of digital services - particularly those offered by HMRC - will only increase if people feel able to trust websites to securely handle personal data.
This survey asks about how confident you are going online, government websites and the increasing use of social media.
You don’t need to answer all the questions – but the more information provided, the more impact the survey is likely to have. The results will be used to inform joint research being carried out by the Low Incomes Tax Reform Group, Tax Aidand Tax Help for Older People charities on behalf of The Chartered Institute of Taxation.
The survey should take no more than about fifteen minutes and all answers are completely anonymous.
