Complete set of consolidated tax credits legislation is now available on revenuebenefits
Since 2002, there have been a large number of amendments to the tax credits legislation. For Advisers who need to understand the legislation as it applies today, the task of applying numerous pieces of amending legislation to the original versions is very time consuming and makes reliable interpretations extremely difficult.
It has been our mission to provide a complete set of up-to-date (consolidated) tax credits legislation, where all of the up-rating and amending legislation has already been applied, and completely free of charge.
We are pleased to announce that a full set of consolidated tax credits legislation is now available on the revenuebenefits website. This has kindly been provided by Tolley Tax Intelligence and LexisNexis and essentially contains the tax credits part of Tolley's Yellow Tax Handbook . It includes footnotes indicating amendments to legislation; cross-references; definitions; and additional helpful material including HMRC briefs and cross-references to HMRC’s internal guidance manuals. We will update the legislation quarterly or as new regulations are made.
Primary legislation, including the consolidated Tax Credits Act 2002, can be found in our statutes section.
Secondary legislation, which includes consolidated tax credits and other related regulations, can be found in our statutory instruments section.
You can find the original versions of the legislation and the individual pieces of up-rating and amending legislation within our tax credits legislation and caselaw section. This may be useful for Advisers who are trying to establish what the legislation said at a particular point in the past. For example, if you are dealing with a dispute on a case from 2005.
We believe that we are the only website to offer, free of charge or subscriptions, a complete set of consolidated tax credits related legislation. We hope that Advisers of tax credit claimants will find this an invaluable addition to our website. We are really interested in your feedback on the addition of the consolidated legislation or any other aspects of revenuebenefits.
