Further postponement of Universal Credit in North Kensington
The DWP has announced that universal credit full service roll-out to postcode areas covered by North Kensington Jobcentre will be postponed until 26 September 2018.
The announcement reads 'The roll-out of Universal Credit full service in postcode areas administered by North Kensington Jobcentre will now take place from 26 September 2018. These postcodes are: W8, W10 5, W10 6, W10 9 and W11 as listed in Part 29 of the Schedule to Commencement Order No. 29. The date was changed by the Minister for Employment on 26 September 2017 on behalf of the Secretary of State, in a decision made under Regulation 4 of the Universal Credit (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2014. This supersedes a previous decision made by the Minister for Employment on 3 July 2017.'
Roll-out had initially been scheduled for 19 July but this was put back to 4 October 2017 following to the Grenfell Tower fire, referred to in our blog post on 3 July. This further postponement now schedules full service rollout for 26 September 2018.
The announcement is available on the GOV.UK website.
