HMRC annual report and accounts : 2017 to 2018
HMRC have published their annual report and accounts for 2017 to 2018.
Amyas Morse, the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) of the National Audit Office, has reported on the 2017-18 accounts of HM Revenue & Customs and has qualified his regularity audit opinion on the 2017-18 Resource Accounts because of material levels of error and fraud in the Personal Tax Credits expenditure. The latest report shows tax credits error and fraud at 4.9% (£1.3b) compared to 4.8% (£1.4b) for 2016 to 2017.
