Managed migration to Universal Credit from April 2024

Written Statement published on 25 January 2024 updates the latest position on migration to universal credit from April 2024. The full statement is available on the Parliament UK website .

Amongst other things, the statement announces that people who have reached their state pension age who are currently claiming tax credits, will start to be contacted under formal managed migration from August 2024 to ask them to claim either universal credit or pension credit, depending on their circumstances.

We expect more details will follow, in particular around pension age claimants and other claimants who are as yet being deferred from the formal managed migration exercise and will update the information on our website pages as the detail becomes available.
