National Living Wage

The new National Living Wage comes into force from 1 April 2016.

The NLW rate applies to employed workers aged 25 and over and the initial rate, from 1 April 2016 is £7.20 per hour.  The Government announced they have a target of it reaching more than £9 an hour by 2020.

Employed workers below age 25 and apprentices will continue to be entitled to receive the relevant rates of the National Minimum Wage.
