New phone number for the Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance helplines

HMRC have announced new phone numbers for their Child Benefit and Guardian's Allowance helplines

From 16 April HMRC will use the following 0300 numbers for the Child Benefit helplines:

This change means the majority of calls to these helplines will generally cost less, although call charges are based on individual tariff arrangements with callers' service providers, the devices used for calls, and the location from which calls are made.

We are advised that all Child Benefit forms and letters will be updated to include the new phone numbers in due course and the HMRC and gov.uk websites will have information about the new numbers.

A message will be added to the existing 0845 numbers, which can still be used for around the next 18 months.
