Tax Credits computer maintenance - downtime
HMRC have notified us that their planned routine upgrades to the tax credits computer system will take place over the weekend, 5 and 6 April 2014.
This will affect the service they can provide as the tax credits system will be unavailable on both days until the start of business on Monday 7 April 2014.
The tax credit Helpline will be open as usual but will not have access to the tax credits computer system and will only be available for general advice. A message will be played on the Helpline to inform callers at the beginning of the call.
The main changes in this upgrade include minor system fixes for internal users and the following:-
- Real Time Information in renewals for some customers
- On-line renewals for some customers
- changes to appeals, and
- tax credits stopping on 31 August for customers who have children aged 16, 18 or 19 who have not told the Tax Credit Office that their child is in full-time non-advanced education or approved training.
