Tax Credits renewals - on-line renewal service extended
HMRC have announced that, from today, most tax credit claimants can use the on-line service to renew their tax credit claims, including those who have changes or corrections to report.
Initially, the service was only available to people who were asked to reply and were confirming they had no changes to report. Now, following a promising start, HMRC have extended the scope to cover most other reply-required renewals as well.
The on-line option is available to claimants who are in the reply-required category and, of those, the only claimants not covered by the service are those who need to renew for more than one year and have received the form TC 603 D2.
The on-line renewal service is available via the GOV.UK website - renew tax credits
Its a good idea to renew as early as possible. The standard options of renewing by post or by telephone are also available, although the telephone lines are very busy at this time of year, especially at peak times (lunch times and after 5pm) and Mondays and Fridays.
