How does National Minimum and National Living Wage work?

In this section you will find links to information on various aspects of NMW.

From 1 April 2016, the Government introduced a National Living Wage (NLW) for adults aged 25 or over. The NLW was extended to cover people over 23 from April 2021 and from April 2024, it was further changed to cover people aged 21 and over. The NLW and NMW are reviewed annually and generally uprated in April.
