Tax Credits: Expected HMRC standards

This section of the website provides information about the level of service you and your clients should get from HMRC.

The HMRC Charter was introduced in 2009 and updated in 2016 and again in 2020. It sets out a list of rights for you and your client and responsibilities upon you and your client. Although it does not replace existing rights and remedies, it is a useful addition particularly in complaints. More information can be found in the Charter section.

The second part of this section gives information about dealing with HMRC if you or your client need extra support.
