Universal credit: Rates

The rates for elements of Universal Credit are subject to annual uprating.

As part of the Government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, the standard allowance in UC was temporarily increased by approximately £20 per week.

For 2021/22, the temporary increase has been carried forward for 6 months. This means that there are 2 rates for the UC standard allowance during 2021/22. The higher rates, with the temporary increase apply April to September and from October to March, the lower rates apply.

The 2021/22 rates for UC are published on the GOV.UK website.

You can find rates for the current year and back to 2013-2014 in our rates pdf
